We have visited Vancouver, BC numerous times over the past 20+ years. Among other things, we like the Surrey & Vancouver area for its good Indian restaurants. Here are a few of our  favorites  (and some recommended by our friends) - updated in 2026. If you have been to Surrey many times & want to try a different place - Abbotsford, BC has some good number of restaurants & eateries (not as many as Surrey though). Driving time from Seattle to Abbotsford is almost the same as driving to Surrey. Here's a list for Abbotsford .

EDITED: Nov/2012 Eastside has some reasonably good/authentic Indian restaurants. Whether you are looking for the typical Naan & curry, Dosas (Indian Crepes), Chaat , Indo-chinese cuisine, Indian Pizza or some light snacks to munch on -- you will find it all on the Eastside. Some of my (mostly vegetarian) favorites are listed below...in so specific order. Indian-style Pizzas from CanAm Pizza  (in Bellevue). Yumm! Gobi Manchurian & Dahi Bhalla from Kanishka  (in Redmond) Onion Kulcha, Naan (and vegetarian curries) from Pabla (in Issaquah) Gulab Jamun & Parothas from Punjab Sweets (in Kent) Pongal & South-Indian Buffet from Udupi Cafe (in Bellevue). The Seattle-Eastside has seen 4 new Indian restaurants open up, just in the past 6+ weeks -- all within a 2-mile radius. With 20+ Indian restaurants around, it will be a stiff competition. Tandoori Fire  in Redmond, WA India King in Bellevue, WA ( opposite the crossroads mall; buffet-only) Oh! India in Bellevue, WA ( in the crossroads mall) Royal India in Bellevue, WA (next to Chuck E Cheese in Bellevue; not to be confused with Royal India in Kirkland)  UrbanSpoon  lists 113 Indian restaurants in/around Seattle -- and, I'm sure that this is not a complete list.
