iPhone apps not loading after transferring to new phone

Recently, I switched to a new iPhone & tried to set it up by restoring data/apps from my older iPhone. During this process, all my non-Apple apps were stuck in the "loading..." state for multiple hours. I tried multiple approaches to resolve the issue without luck.

The approach that finally worked - switch to iPhone App Library & click on one of the icons that was in the "loading" state.


You can find the App Library on your iPhone's very last Home screen. To get to it, unlock your iPhone and swipe left until you see the search bar and neatly organized stacks of apps.

  


Here are some steps that I tried unsuccessfully

  • Restart the phone multiple times
  • Signed-out of the App Store; and signed back in
  • Tried to install the apps from the App Store
  • Pause/restart the app-install

Review: WatchIndia.tv set top box

Options to watch Indian TV channels used to be somewhat limited in the US (especially for regional-language channels). Sometime ago I came across http://www.watchindia.tv/  , but never had a chance to try it out. Finally, I decided to give it a try & ordered their set-top box (I got the newer version with HDMI output & WiFi support). My experience so far has been pretty good... Indian TV Channels on Roku

I got a chance to play Roku earlier in the week. Roku's UI is very simple to use. Support for NetFlix is awesome. Roku's UI & the "channel store" reminds of iPhone's AppStore (not sure which came first, Roku's ChannelStore or iPhone's AppStore). Quite a few providers of Indian TV Channels online ( YuppTV.com , ChannelLive.TV , Reliable IPTV,  Tamil IPTV, etc) are available on Roku (complete listing is here ). I got a chance to play YuppTV's test channel. The quality is not bad at all. But, the selection of channels is somewhat limited. Wish WatchIndia.TV  (which offers a lot more channels) was available on Roku. PS: My review of WatchIndia.TV is here EDIT #1: Indian TV channels are now available on Roku, via DishNetwork.
